I met my dad and Anne at Ace Hardware since we were going to go to the city. You were having the kids Christmas exchange. I feel a little bad about leaving you with all the kids. I feel like I just left you with mayhem and work to do.

Oh well. lol

Once we got there we had to sign in and I was my Dad & Anne's guest. It was not at all what I was thinking as the place was huge. As we walked under ground, there were tons of stores and lots of jewelry places. We got to the jewelry place that we were headed for. It was pretty crowded, probably for Christmas shopping. There was a 5 foot high chocolate fountain and a lady walking around with glasses of champaign.

I felt like a fish out of water as I didn't know where to start. I first started looking at the rings without a stone in the setting. I learned about halos, single and double. I learned about the amazing various designs and detail that each ring may or may not have. I learned about white gold and yellow gold. There were some amazing rings there and just the diamonds within the design created some to rise well above 5K without even the major stone in place. I was having a hard time picturing the stone in place so I went over to see the precious stones.

I started picking out rings I liked and adding them to the side. I picked out a few ruby stones and more of the sapphire. Some of the sapphires were so dark and deep it was hard to see the blue. Apparently, the better the blue of the stone, the better the stone. I liked what the ruby stood for, but now seeing all of them together, the sapphire definitely stood out. I also liked the fact that the sapphire wouldn't necessarily clash with anything since I hoped you would wear the ring every day. Being red, the ruby would clash.

Now I knew my heart was set on sapphires and I learned sapphires are extremely valued for its hardness, which is second to diamonds. However, unlike diamonds, Sapphires can’t be cut by a single blow. I was going to go with the sapphire.

So now I started eliminating rings from my selection. The first to go were the rings with ruby stone. And a few of the sapphires. I did notice my taste was leaning towards the halo rings setting. Then I honed in on that and realized I preferred the double halo look. I did want a ring with a lot of design on the side, but the halo look is so pretty.

I narrowed it down to two rings. The design on the one ring I really liked, it had great detail and design down the side of the ring which helped it look really feminine. The sapphire was really pretty as you could see a lot of blue.

The other ring didn't have a design into the band but had beautiful halo design and one huge sapphire stone. It was a really good sapphire as well.

The choice was simple between these two rings, the two halo and huge sapphire was so pretty, it was your ring. It is perfect.

I liked it so much I put a deposit down since they didn't hold rings. I now have 60 days to come up with the rest or I lose my deposit. I was not planning to save within 60 days so I have technically put the ring out of my price range but I have to find a way to pay for this.

We visited some other stores within the place to look around and I picked up your christmas scarf but to be honest, I was thinking about your ring the whole time. After the deposit, I won't be able to get you another present so I'm glad I got the scarf. Heh

You text me asking where I was and I said I would be back in a little over an hour. You wanted to know why it took so long. I told you we had to clean up and commute time, but to be honest, picking out the perfect your ring for you takes time.

After getting back to you guys, it was so hard to keep my mouth shut and be cool. I wanted to tell my best friend all about it but since she is the one receiving the ring, I couldn't say anything.
